Dracula Has Risen from the Grave
Description
He lives! They die!
Christopher Lee as the fanged undead.
A village trembles in fear. A priest forsakes his vows in the service of evil. Young beauties fall victim to a mysterious seducer. And each night brings a new threat of death. Because Dracula Has Risen from the Grave.
In this third incarnation as Bram Stoker's infamous vampire, horror great and 45-year movie veteran Christopher Lee goes fang to cross with the forces of good in this atmospheric film from England's Hammer Studios.
In the '50s and '60s, Hammer brought a much-needed blood-red transfusion to the horror genre. Mutant bugs and radioactive beings had done a monster mash of sorts on the legendary counts, creatures and werewolves of the glory years of the '30s and '40s. Hammer put those venerable "heroes" back in the limelight in films accentuating Gothic menace, visual splendors and sharp acting — and moviegoers responded enthusiastically. Dracula Has Risen from the Grave is one of the best of these memorable genre-reviving Hammer productions, one into which you can really sink your teeth!
